An Old Mill

Day 72: Little Rock, AR. The Old Mill (or Pugh’s Mill) was built in 1933 as a recreation of an 1880’s water-powered grist mill. This mill was seen in the opening scenes of “Gone With The Wind”. I thought this was a really relaxing area to visit(even though homes were built right across the street)…I felt like I was in Disneyland! :)

The Parthenon...in Tennesse?

Day 71: Nashville, TN. I was surprised to find that a full-scale replica of Greece’s Parthenon was built in Nashville for Tennesse’s 1897 Centennial Exposition. Apparently there’s even a recreation of the 42 foot statute of Athena inside, but it was closed for the season.
